Quiet Friday

The office is quiet as a morgue today - out of a possible 50 people that could be in, there are only 17 including me.

I hate Fridays like this - I have hundreds of things to do, but everyone else is goofing off cos while the Boss is away the battery hens will play. This makes focussing especially hard.

Plans for the weekend:

The most important thing - is the penultimate episode of Doctor Who!

Bili, Sian's sister is coming over tonight and my parents are due tomorrow morning. These events will be punctuated by World Cup fever no doubt. Not a problem, as long as I can check my Fantasy Football scores!

Fantasy Football

I tend to get to gain an interest in something and let it become an obsession. Once I'd installed Folding@home on one PC, it was obvious to everyone (apart from me) that I would install it, or try to install it, on everyone's PC. I quickly learned the best settings by reading all the forums and quickly rose through the ranks.

A similar thing has happened with the Golley Slater Fantasy Football League at work. I got pushed into doing it, but once I had selected a team, I clearly had to know everything about the players and tweaked the team endlessly to maximise their points potential!

It has never occured to me before that I had an obsessive nature, but now I know...I'll have to watch for that.

Mogs cartoon

My good friend, Craig Hodges drew this cartoon of my son today. It really captures his innocence, his parents lips and his cute little button nose.Posted by Picasa
